Scantek Aids Police in Cole Miller case
Scantek has been used to identify alleged offenders in the Cole Miller coward punch case. After having their IDs scanned earlier in the night police were able to quickly identify the suspects and apprehend them as soon as possible.

Kununurra-Wyndham Alcohol Management System Install
Scantek has completed the installation of our Alcohol Management System into the Kununurra-Wyndham region and we are looking forward the outcome of the 12 month trial. Scantek Stonnington Liquor Accord Implementation

Bans For Drug Abuse

Scantek Alcohol Management System For WA's Northwest
Scantek's Alcohol Management System will be deployed in bottle shops in the Northwest of Western Australia and trialled for 12 months with a view to reducing alcohol fueled violence and antisocial behaviour. The system will limit the amount of alcohol that can be purchased by a person in a single day and warn shop owners if a patron is attempting to purchase more than their daily limit.

Scantek Reduces Serious Incidents By 58%
Examining data from the Western Australian Police Force after installing Scantek one venue saw a 58% reduction in serious incidents over the insalled time period. Due to the nature of the technology people are far less likely to commit an offence since they know they are caught.
The venue has been more than pleased with how Scantek has helped operations and owners have said they would never operate another licensed venue again with out Scantek.
ID Scanning Technology Improving Pub and Club Safety
Clubs and pubs in Melbourne believe that ID Scanning technology is helping make Melbourne's nightlife safer. Police reports have found that crimes in licensed premises were down 4.3% on the previous year.
In a quote from Australian Hotels Association chief executive Brian Kearney said that the scanners had been a significant contributor in reducing of these crimes.
Mr Kearney also said that the association had not received any complaints of misuse of personal information from ID scanners.
Martha Tsamis, also quoted in the article, said that people feel safer with ID scanners due to the knowledge that if someone does do something wrong, they know that they will be caught.
New South Wales Government To Install ID Scanners in all Kings Cross Pubs and Clubs
In an attempt to reduce violence in Kings Cross the New South Wales state government is planning to install ID scanners in all venues. The move comes after the unfortunate death of 18 year old Thomas Kelly who died from injuries in July.
The government also plans to ban shots, double pours and drinks served in glass containers after midnight on both Friday and Saturday nights as well.
South Australian Premier To Introduce Alcohol Reforms - Including ID Scanners
South Australia's premier will be introducing alcohol reforms in three weeks for inner city venues that will aim to reduce alcohol fuelled violence. The changes will aim to reduce the number of police required on the streets of Adelaide so police patrols can return to the outer suburbs.
The reforms will include, ID scanners, drink marshalls, expanded closed circuit tv and restrictions on late night alcohol sales. Video excerpt from 10 News below.
